OVERVIEW
When you are ready to step up to high current Brushless power for your stock E-Maxx, E-Revo, or other 1/8-1/5 scale buggy or truggy, the SPECS S5-RTR Electronic Speed Controller is ready. The S5-RTR is designed for heavy duty usage, and can be powered by any NiCd/NiMH from 6 to 18 cells or LiPo from 2S to 6S. You can tailor the ESC to match your vehicle and running conditions by way of multiple user-selectable settings like running mode, drag brake force, start control (punch), and braking force. The built-in voltage cut-off is also user selectable based on how many battery cells you are using. One-button radio setup will have you driving in no time.
The S5-RTR ESC has a maximum output of 150-amps and an input voltage range from 7.4v up to 22.2v. Large 4mm gold bullet plugs are pre-installed. The large cooling heatsink gets added airflow thanks to a replaceable 48mm cooling fan. There is also an auxiliary plug built-in that can provide power to external brushless motor cooling fans. An optional Quick-Set programming card is available that allows you to make additional ESC parameter adjustments on the fly (such as motor timing advance) without having to use a separate PC laptop or complicated button patterns.
